May 2010 – Elementary: Leading Student Achievement: Our Principal Purpose

In May of 2010, Elementary school principals gathered to conclude year 5 of the Leading Student Achievement project. Each of the Ontario principals' associations gave a brief introduction to the day.

Following the introductions, Juliette Powell then shared her story from where she began and how she got to where she is today.

Dr. Ken Leithwood then spoke about the LSA Theory of Action, and discussed the interim report and his recommendations for the following year.

In the video segments below, Dr. Ken Leithwood discusses in detail the components of the LSA Theory of Action. He describes each of the four paths and states what they have an impact on and some examples of what these look like in the classroom and school. He then presents the findings from the interim evaluation report, and his recommendations for moving the project into its 6th year.
