Publisher's Description

GEAR is a comprehensive teacher resource for grades 2 to 8 that engages students in global issues and inspires them to be caring and responsible global citizens. Explore issues such as child rights, communities, water, education, HIV and AIDS and peace and conflict. GEAR includes: a study guide, blackline masters, three videos (Communities: Around the World, Around the Corner; Safe Water for All; and Circle of Friends), a flash animation of (Water is Life), Word document templates, curriculum learning outcomes and a calendar of international dates. GEAR supports provincial curriculum expectations in social studies, language arts, arts, literacy and citizenship education.
