Curriculum Correlation
Project Atmosphere Canada supports topics and concepts associated with weather in Science, Earth and Space Science, and Geography at the secondary school level.

Content
Project Atmosphere Canada provides a set of authoritatively written modules that can be used for instruction of weather-related topics in secondary school Science and Geography curricula. Weather safety is highlighted through a discussion of weather watches and weather warnings and the implications of each. In addition to narrative for the teacher, the modules contain many interesting and student-centred activities that develop and reinforce students' knowledge and skills. The activities raise students' awareness of the technology associated with meteorology. Links to Internet sites are provided for students to access up-to-date meteorological data. A well-developed bibliography provides an extensive listing of related references.

Methodology
Project Atmosphere Canada is a learning resource written for teachers. It includes extensive background information presented as reference notes for teachers to support their instruction of weather concepts. A diverse range of activities provides multiple opportunities for students to develop problem-solving, inquiry, and group-work skills. The resource promotes connections to Science, Technology, Society, and Environment.

Assessment
While assessment is not directly addressed in the resource, the activities can be adapted and/or used to determine student achievement.

Format
This print-based resource is presented in a binder, allowing the modules to be used individually and non-sequentially. The organization of the resource is clear and consistent. The format facilitates selecting materials appropriate to meeting student needs. Maps, diagrams, and other graphics are clear and appropriately captioned and labelled.

Bias
The resource presents scientific information in a non-judgmental fashion and makes wide use of Canadian examples.

Review Recommendation
Project Atmosphere Canada - Teacher's Guide is recommended for use with topics and concepts associated with weather in Science, Earth and Space Science, and Geography at the secondary school level.
