The Trésor package of readers supports educators in implementing French as a Second Language curriculum in Grades 7 to 10.
Content
Trésor provides a basis for the acquisition of the skills and knowledge of the Grades 7 to 10 French as a Second Language curriculum. The text information is supported and enhanced by the use of graphics. The language of Trésor is grade-level appropriate. French/English dictionaries in the back of the books support students' understanding of key terms.
Methodology
Literacy strategies such as before, during, and after reading activities provide students with opportunities to deepen their understanding. The Teacher's Guide encourages teachers to use literacy tools such as think-alouds, reflection journals, and graphic organizers. A strong focus is placed on oral comprehension and conversation. The resource presents a balance of teacher-directed, partner, group, and independent learning.
Assessment
Each reader has practice questions in the margins and at the end of each chapter. The Teacher's Guide provides opportunities for self-assessment and summative assessment. A rubric for oral presentations and for written presentations is included in the Teacher's Guide.
Format
The organization of the readers supports independent student use by providing literacy strategy tips throughout the text. The Teacher's Guide has an easy-to-use organization with references, teaching strategies, lesson-plan suggestions, blackline masters, and assessment cards.

Trésor presents a balanced perspective.
